5D4N delivery @ Thomson Medical Centre

My Edd was on 11/10/2013, yup this is not new story, but busy with my little I got no time to share my experience.  I start to write again because just confirm my pregnancy recently.

My gynea was Dr Adrian B Woodworth from TMC, he asked me for induced labour on 11/10/13, I decided to deliver on 10/10/13, hence he arrange me to admit on 09/10/13.

Before I went to TMC, I having porridge for lunch as I heard that when enter labour ward cannot take meal anymore. I checkin myself at 1pm, nurse passed me a gown (very big opening at back) did urine test and I was hooked on CTG for monitoring of baby's heartbeat and my contraction. That is a room with about 4-6 bed. It was very boring to lie on bed and cannot anyhow turn my body, inconvenient to go pee also. My next bed mummy start contraction, I felt uneasy when heard she crying out.

After monitoring about half an hour, I was inserted induced pill and again wait long long and cannot go pee. Never feel contraction at all.
Nurse brought me to my room at around 4:30pm, I got free upgrade from 4 bedded to 2 bedded.

I was so excited like check in to hotel room, nurse told me dinner shall be ready before 6pm. Wow even better than hotel room service. I walked around and took picture then turned on TV waiting my hubby visit me.

I'm a vegetarian mummy, TMC did provide delicious vegetarian meals for patient.

My dinner served warm and tasty, 2 vege 1 soup and 1 dessert.

After having my dinner I feel contraction start stronger and shorter interval.
At around 7.30, nurse came and brought me to observation room, I felt pain like period cramp so walk very slow, maybe I should ask for wheelchair. I never thought the next time I lied on the my room again with my baby, I never brought all the items I though should have in the labor ward.

I was brought to another room, this room having bed with TV, it's 7 o'clock TV time.
8pm Dr Adrian check on me and popped my water bag unexpected warm fluid flow out from vagina. Doctor told me I was dilated at 2-3cm tomorrow can deliver. After waterbag broken the pain become unbearable.

Nurse inject me and insert pill into anus ask me to hold as long as I can. So many different type of pain in my stomach I scared I can't walk out from toilet. ( And one 针头still attach on me)

Around 10pm, I was transferred to labour ward where there is only one bed and one leather armchair for hubby. I asked for epidural soon as I heard no more epidural allowed above xxcm dilation. Anesthetic came in inject me in between contraction on my back, I feel a cooling fluid flow in my spine. I never see how big is the needle as I heard from other mummy it's very big. Very soon, I feel so relieved no more pain at all, and half of my body became numb, I can't even lift my leg. Urethra insert to help pee also no feeling.

The room is cold, I ask hubby go back to take sweater but hubby said someone check in my room next bed he don't want to disturb.

No more food allowed after entering labour ward, drink also not allowed, If really cannot tahan can only sip little bit. Though no more pain I still cannot fall asleep, first is in excited mood, 2nd is not really comfortable as cannot turn to side, one arm put on drip another arm strapped by blood pressure monitor, 3rd nurse came in to check dilation every hour. 4th shivering from epidural side effect

Next time, I will remember to bring these in one bag follow me to labour ward:
- Phone charger
- Ear phone
- Essential Oil
- Sock and Sweater for hubby

Around 6pm, nurse told me I am fully dilated, my baby hearbeat so fast that siren heard whenever heartbeat above 200. Nurse came in let me breath oxygen, I tried to take deep breath to calm down. Nurse adjust the bed to birthing position and taught me how to push. As I having epidural not feeling at all, nurse monitor my contraction and told me when to push. Dunno whether it's my skill not good, tried a few time, Dr said something like baby not bring down lower to pelvis so end up need emergency Csec.

End up I was transferred to OT, anesthetic came in to increase dosage of epidural. Though feeling numb but still can feel something is working on my tummy, though I cannot see what happen still I can imagine that. One second is like one minute, finally I feel stomach weight lighten, then I heard baby crying.

Haha Hubby so nervous, only took photo for baby, don't show this to Dr Adrian.

Lucky never throw away when see this bloody monkey, after cleaning she look adorable.

Must show off cutie photo

#part 1 : conclusion

Choosing induced labour ended up emergency Csec as my baby want to stay longer in my tummy. Well if let me choose one more time I think maybe I will still choose induced, as long as I never give birth everyday I worried anything happen, since baby already full term I can't wait anymore. Second I feel wasting my leave to rest at home, 3rd I "calculate" the around EDD is good date (八字比较重)

I will still choose natural delivery with epidural, but maybe next time try not to induce.
